JW family made contact....
by LouBelle in.....after 8 years of us being disfellowshipped.
the made contact through my aunt who is still 'in' - as in she has faded but is not disfellowshipped and will pop to a meeting now and again - she does this for my grans' sake.. the contact was from my aunt and uncle (he's an elder) these were the 2 witnesses used against me in my judicial case.
they contacted my aunt and said to forward the message onto us.

I think the creepiest part of the whole thing is that it is likely that the young "Christian" child will never even encounter another kid with same-sex parents. Same sex parents are a minority of a minority.
The purpose of this book is to establish a certain worldview, not to teach the child the how-to's of interacting with another kid with two dads.

Some odd developments
by dissonance_resolved inso things are not making sense at all here in my fade.
as i had posted earlier, i had a long intense talk the other night with my husband where i thought it was crystal clear just where i'm at right now with the wtbts.
then, the same week, he's not feeling well and asks me to take the kids to the mid-week meeting.

I think that much of what we do as human beings is done on a sort of "autopilot mode."
Actually, much more than most people wish to admit to.
Your husband is flying on autopilot. His autopilot program tells him "must get kids to meetings no matter what."
It will take a long time and a lot of love and understanding to get your husband out of "autopilot mode" and to take control of his life.

Got a angry letter from our oldest son today we are very hurt from it.
by TotallyADD inwhen i got home today from work my wife showed me a 5 page letter from our oldest son.
he basically said he does not what anything to do with us because of all the wrong things we did as parents to him and his brother.
he blames us for not being there for him and we are toxic parents.

Well, if I got a note like that from my shitass cunt of a mother, I would certainly take notice.
My mother has yet to admit (yet apologize) to my sister and I about her abuse towards us.
I think that your letter is the best any parent can do under the circumstances. Give it time and more love than you can imagine.
Please don't beat yourselves up about it.

Do David Splanes offensive and pompous orations have a silver lining?
by ranmac inim starting to think so.. i was still somewhat active in meeting and assembly attendance when i first started doubting the jw life.
when i first heard splane give a discourse, it was a real wake up call as to what kind of people are controling this organization.
the next time i heard him speak he was even worse.. as ive seen on this forum, many people have had the same experience.. in slimboyfats thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/251890/1/british-zone-visit-from-david-splane-a-report-from-the-special-meeting-in-glasgow, he noted this gem from splane: if traumatic things have happened in your past then just don't think about it, that's the best you can do until the new system.. this is one of the most irresponsible and rage inducing comments i have ever heard.

Yep. And Scientologists eliminate the psychological threat by out-and-out demonizing the profession. Witnesses at a point certainly did demonize psychology, but to a lesser extent in recent years.

Bible Writers not just ignorant "goat herders"
by applehippie inreally, the bible was written by nothin' but goat herders?
i don't post much but this does irk me.
yes a few may have been shepherds or fisherman, but a fair amount were far more educated and were professionals in their fields of occupation.

I don't believe the bible fas written by goatherders or fishermen simply for the fact that people of those classes were illiterate. The idea of "lower classes" knowing how to read and write is a modern concept. Sure, a guy like Moses (if he existed) would make for a great writer: privileged to be educated in Egypt. But your average fisherman like Peter would have been completely illiterate; there is no way he could have written the books attributed to him.

With the July 15 WT approaching, would this be the ideal opportunity to start an ACTIVELY VOCAL fade?
by Captain Blithering inby 'actively vocal', i do not mean openly criticising the articles and pointing out the inconsistencies or flipflops (not footwear, reversals).
i do mean letting people know that you're finding it hard to understand the new truth, and the fact that there is therefore old truth, or falsities, (is that a word?
it is now), therefore if there are falsehoods (that's the word, of course), then that puts into doubt the extent of jah's involvement in the preparation/dissemination of it all... (and making it clear you're not saying they aren't gods prophets on earth, just that you're not sure, don't know).. the reason i ask is cos i'm finding it hard to completely fade without an external reason.

I was actually kind of mulling this over myself. . .
Wheras I kept my mouth shut when I heard my BIL kvetching to my wife over the generation change two years ago, I think I would speak up now about the New Bullshite if he brought it up.

My question is, if this threat of god killing every last 'worldly' person on the planet is so fucking real, WHY DON'T YOU USE THE INTERNET TO WARN PEOPLE INSTEAD OF DISCUSSNG THEIR DEMISE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS?
Oh yeah, that's right: It's a cult!
